No matter what type of budget you are traveling to New Orleans on, you will find something to satisfy your need for fun and entertainment in this fascinating town.

Once known as the Inevitable City, this area sprang up around the mouth of the Mississippi when it was French owned, before the Louisiana Purchase. New Orleans is known as the Crescent City or the City that Care Forgot, New Orleans is a Mecca for partygoers and jazz lovers, as well as people just looking for a quick trip back into the history America. From tours to parades to festivals, New Orleans has something for everyone. Holidays are particularly nice in New Orleans. This town is known for its party atmosphere, and it stokes it up for all holidays, not just Shrove Tuesday, otherwise known as Mardi Gras.

Tours cover the French Quarter, the plantations, the jazz clubs, the romantic river walks, and everything in between. Tours are even conducted on Christmas, where you can see the magnificent Christmas light displays of the Oaks by motor coach. Of course, there are large parties for New Year's Eve, the Fourth of July and Mardi Gras, as well as smaller parades for Saint Joseph's Day. There is no way to describe New Year's Eve on Bourbon Street other than to say you must experience it at least once. Kids will love seeing the wildlife living around New Orleans, and not the ones living in the French Quarter! There are family friendly attractions such as the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo, as well as guided tours of Honey Island. There really are white alligators in Louisiana, and you will find them here in New Orleans, along with all kinds of exotic looking birds, bugs, and fauna. If you do not like your animals wandering around free, there are several museums around the area.

New Orleans is far from being just a party town. If you like a good night out, you will certainly find it here, however there are also many family friendly activities. Try one of these guided tours or visit one of the museums. You will not be disappointed and you might just learn something!
